Also, it is derived from Bisnorcholenaldehyde (B508830), which can be used to prepare 27-Nor-Δ4-dafachronic acid as a synthetic ligand of Caenorhabditis elegans DAF-12 receptor. It is also used to synthesize 3b,6a-dihydroxy-5a-cholan-23-one.Also, it is related to the parent compound Progesterone (P755900), which is a teroid hormone produced by the corpus luteum.
